From the Lighting of the Tree ceremony broadcast from New York City to other televised holiday concerts, and favorite tunes played on repeat at the mall during the busy shopping season, festive music is literally an instrumental component to holiday traditions. Holiday music shouldn’t be reserved solely as background buzz or as a distant event on television, but should be celebrated locally as well.
